The Creation

The necessity of the PawsFree line of products emerged from Christina’s work during COVID as a laser technician at a Virginia veterinary practice specializing in chiropractic, acupuncture and laser therapy. Her boss had always used frozen baby food held by the owners to keep the dogs still and calm during treatment. With the reduced number of hands (no owners in the building), Christina and Stew created a free-standing holder for the food, allowing the staff to perform their treatments.  We believed we could develop a similar product for professionals and pet owners to provide the same handling benefits. And the PawsFree Cup was born!

Christina is the multifaceted owner of PawsFree, LLC.  She has a background in animal behavior and has worked in a number of different facilities over the years, including wildlife education centers, animal shelters, training centers and veterinary clinics. She loves competing in obedience and agility with her own dogs.

George is the family’s Rhodesian Ridgeback and the model for the logo.

Stew is a high school science teacher and designed and built the hands free devices for Christina, and now he does this for you!

Sam is a Virginia Tech student and works on the publicity, marketing, and web design for PawsFree.

Pi is the family’s Doberman Pinscher and is the  on-site test dog for the 4oz cup due to his dietary restrictions.
